FAE would like to welcome it's newest Board Member!  René Acevedo!

René was a fellow for the first time in our 2019 Summer Academy. He told us he had never spent more than a few minutes in a classroom, even though he works as a community outreach specialist in the Everett School District. Last year he was considering a change in his professional life, so he thought serving as a fellow would give him a good idea of what it is like to manage a classroom of his own.

René worked alongside teacher Ashley Catucci and was an engaged member of a powerful teaching team. After his time in the Summer Academy René said he had a deeper appreciation for the importance of his role in helping parents to be involved in their children’s education.  He decided to stay in his current role as a community outreach specialist.

René's work in the Everett School District, his understanding of the needs in his community and his small business management are all experiences that will strengthen the FAE Board.

Congratulations and Welcome Aboard René!
