Our Mission

The mission of the Foundation for Academic Endeavors is to provide empowering educational experiences for low-income children and families and to build a community that realizes its full potential supported by a network that encourages leadership and lifelong learning.

In Washington State, the class of 2017 had over three times as many low-income students drop out of high school as their higher income peers.

In the Skagit Valley 39% of students are Latinex while only 5% of their teachers are Latinex.

2 to 3 months lost

A major barrier to high school completion is summer learning loss.  Every summer low-income youth lose two to three months in reading while their high-income peers make slight gains.

In the 2019 FAE Summer Academy,

92% of our students did not experience summer learning loss.
